Summary: An event titled “Chase your academic dream” was organized as a part of career counseling session of the Department of Zoology & Microbiology in association with IQAC Surendranath College by Dr. Nilansu Das & Dr. Monica Ghosh on 9th January, 2024 at Biology Gallery. The occasion was graced by secretary of teachers council Dr. Harishanker Biswash. First of all, an interactive session was carried out in order to ward off fear of students with respect to their study plan abroad. The requisite documentation including application process, topic search and transcripts required were elaborated. Dr. Monica Ghosh inspired students with how to go about with the application process including writing resume, GRE examination and other important aspects of application process. Most importantly they emphasized on how to make an unique application by stating several examples. Next the areas related to transcript and international norms were analyzed with examples so as to make it more convenient for students. SOP writing was also discussed in detail as this is one of the important criteria for selection. Few examples of GRE questions were stated with solutions and further examples of English proficiency tests including TOEFL and IELTS were mentioned in detail. Finally the matter of procurement of recommendation was discussed in order to complete the application process. The program ended by gracing the speakers with uttario and memento.
