Internal Complaints Cell
The ICC of our college is committed to equal opportunities and to providing an environment in which all Faculties, staff and students are treated with dignity and respect in which they can work and study free from any type of discrimination, harassment, or victimization. Harassment is a serious offence which is punishable under the College’s disciplinary procedures. Ragging is a criminal offence and is governed by the Anti-Ragging Code of the UGC. The college is firm on ensuring that the UGC framed regulations on prohibition, prevention, and elimination of ragging are strictly followed on campus. The ICC also handles various grievances of students as well as teachers. The cell enables a student to express feelings by initiating and pursuing the grievance procedure in accordance with the rules and regulations of the College.

The Anti-Ragging Committee of the institution shall take an appropriate decision, in regard to punishment or otherwise, depending on the facts of each incident of ragging and nature and gravity of the incident of ragging. The ICC also assures all the complaints of the students, teaching and non-teaching staffs are treated with dignity and respect and the complaints should be maintained confidential. The main objective of the ICC is also to develop an accountable and responsive attitude among all the stakeholders so that a harmonious educational atmosphere is maintained in the institute. It also encourages the students to express their problems /grievances frankly and freely. The ICC aims to: 1. To support, those students and teachers who have been deprived of the services offered by the college, for which he / she is entitled. 2. To ensure effective solution to the grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

The cell strictly follows the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of women employees and students in Higher Education Institutions) Regulation, 2015.
The cell tries to ensure that students are aware of the redress mechanism as well as the appropriate people to contact and report problems. Reporting occurrences of sexual harassment and ragging related issues are made through mailing in the designated mail id and posting anti-sexual harassment rules on the college website, and emailing students and workers. The cell endeavours to prevent, prohibit and redress any kind of sexual harassment or ragging related issues that takes place in the college on women employees or students.
The cell has so far not received any complaints from students regarding sexual harassment or ragging related complaints.
The ICC also handles grievance related complaints from both the students and teachers. 1. The cell is coordinates with the mentors of various departments to look at the issues students are facing in the college and are taking necessary remedies.
2. Certain grievances were raised by the teachers demanding a separate evaluation room for correcting answer scripts, after the recommendation of the cell the college has assigned a separate room to evaluate answer scripts for the convenience of the teachers.
3. The cell is also contemplating assigning a separate toilet for handicapped students and has forwarded the matter to the college authority for appropriate action.
4. Grievances have also been raised by teachers and students regarding issues on cleanliness and hygiene on campus particularly in the pandemic situation, and the matter and have been duly forwarded to the appropriate committee for necessary action.
5. Senior faculty members demanded the installation of lifts in the college campus and raised the grievance to the cell, the matter was forwarded to the college authority and action was taken promptly and lift was installed.
6. The teachers and students also urged to open the college canteen immediately following adequate health safety protocols the matter has been forwarded to the college authority accordingly and the canteen was reopened soon after.
7. Issues were raised by the teachers regarding unavailability of chairs on the 3rd floor classrooms, the matter was forwarded to the college authority and action was taken promptly
8. Though the college has a dedicated grievance redressal portal in the college website a grievance redressal box has also been installed in the college office for the convenience of the students.
